Q- What do I need to bring?
A- We supply wetsuits (wetsuit, boots, hood and gloves) and surfboards/Stand Up Paddle boards. All you need to bring is a towel and a drink. We do advise that due to the good old English weather being quite unpredictable at times, that it is a good idea to bring some warm clothes to get changed into afterwards.
Q- Where do I need to meet for surfing lessons?
A- We are based out of Kitemare’s shop, which is located in the centre of Westward Ho! EX39 1GW Alternatively, depending on the tide and conditions we may ask you to meet us in the Northam Burrows car park, next to the Life Guard tower. (look out for the two Surf SUP Academy vans, Flag and Marquee).
Q- Where do I need to meet for SUP lessons
A- As instructed on booking (lessons change location due to tide and conditions)
Q- Do I need to be fit?
A- No, we cater for all abilities of fitness and can taylor the lesson to make its as intense or chilled out as you like.
Q-Do I need to be able to swim?
A- No, we cater for all swimming abilities and can use shallow sections of the beach to teach, so that students are always able to stand up in waist deep water.
Q- How old do I have to be to take part in a surfing lesson and a Stand Up Paddle lesson?
A- To take part in one of our surfing lessons, the minimum age is 8. To take part in one of our Stand Up Paddle lessons, the minimum age is 11
